Reading the labelWhat "trained" means when the dog is a Malinois
High drive makes control worth more than anything else.

Control in a high-drive dog
With a dog this driven, a reliable recall and a clean release are non-negotiable. Ask to see them with distractions present, such as a thrown toy or another person walking by.
Stability
A trained Malinois should stay level in new places, near noise and around strangers. Over-arousal is a warning, not a feature.

What to ask
- Who trained the dog, and for how long?
- What has been taught, in plain words?
- May I see calm behavior as well as work?
- Is there a record of the dog's health?
Titles and promises
A title records a result under certain conditions. It helps, but it does not predict behavior in your kitchen. Be cautious of anyone who guarantees behavior.
This guide does not teach protection work. Leave that to qualified professionals.
